Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Match 5 IPL 2020

The matches played till date have been thrilling. We have already experienced a super over and a large number of improved players. Many teams have faced a let down as well but it is too soon to consider anyone losing. The next match is to be played in between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. Every team now has experienced the play except the Knight Riders starting off the last. Whereas, Mumbai Indians lost its first face off with the Chennai Super Kings. Both the teams are quite strong and possess brilliant players. The match between the two will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 23rd September,2020.

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS
The pitches so far has proved to have surprising amount of pace and bounce. The surface has been left with grass on to prevent it from cracking up and allowing stroke play.

The team strengthens in its batting department. Shubham Gill is expected to be the opener this time. The player is talented but does not had that brilliant year so far and may have Sunil Naraine if he first in. However the team might opt out for Tom Banton in the latter’s place or might shift or might shift to Rahul Tripathi as an overseas bowler but the pace bowling of the team is not that strong. Andre Russell, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan are good to go as a strong middle order. Russell had a productive CPL experience and can be dangerous for the opposition if the surface provides some bounce. While Morgan is brilliant with six hitting.

The bowling department of the team tends to be weaker. Prasidh Krishna and Shivam Mavi might get to start with the game and Lockie Ferguson can be a good addition if Naraine is off ground.

MUMBAI INDIANS-
The team might have won their first match if discontinued with their tradition of going slow in the beginning. The upcoming face off with Kolkata Knight Riders can be a tough examination to them.

Mumbai seemed to be roughly performing in their previous match. Quinton De Kock, Hadik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma did well before throwing it away. Saurabh Tiwari scored 42 off 31 deliveries and is not sure whether he is good at number four as he finds to be a little suspected against short pitched bowling. The team had regretted undervaluing Kieron Pollard by sending him on number 6.

The Mumbai Indians’ middle order is way same and no better than the Kolkata Knight Riders. Jasprit Bumrah ended up conceding a lot of runs and Trent Boult was the best bowler for the team in their previous match with his ability to pick early wickets. The team replaced James Pattinson with Mitchell McClenaghan.

Well strengths cant be changed overnight but sloe start and team form raises a concern.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

In the matches so far, the pitch became better with the second innings and the dew made things troubling for the bowlers. The team winning the toss might advantage with fielding first.

The curators are brilliant in providing pitch with bounce and grass on it. In the recent matches the ball nicely came on to bat and the dew too favoured the batting.
